Who talk of victory? To endure is all.

Life is full of ups and downs. Maybe 2001 was the luckiest year to me, furthermore, it was aslo my zodiacal year.

I never regreted for joining in Alibaba.com, it was an honour of my whole life.

As you knew, This was a great company which was filled with passion and youthful spirit. Every employee had the same vision as the company and struggle for it together. However, at present, some people might not seem to agree with me, some say, “Alibaba will collapse in the few years because there is so many guys goofing around”, “the people from Alibaba is not as good as we expect, they had made a bad influence on the society”, even some papers and medias fustigated and criticized Alibaba.com. Sometimes, I cannot deny these issues and criticism because it really happened and existed. With the growth of a company, more and more youngster joined in and worked for it, who had difference educational background,varied world view and separated bright personalities. Alibaba.com is developing so fast and violently, the total revenue of one year was almost as twice as one of the previous year. What a startling performance! Whereas, along with the rapid development, some internal problems occurred. It is very natural to every big enterprise, IBM, Microsoft, Koda, Coca cola, all these companies had encountered or is encountering these problems. Alibaba.com is still a very young company which is just 8 year-old. The key point is that we are not fear of any problems but fear of unconsciousness of the exsitence of problem.

Ok, let’s get back to my memoirist.

My employee number is 307, and there was no more than 350 employees in the whole company when I came to Alibaba.com. She was creationary and robust at that time. we worked hard like a flock of running wild horses, never stopped. I knew we were carving out a new business model and making the internet as the useful tool for businessman. I was an engineer at that time, coding everyday. we used Java as our main programming language to develop the applications of internet. When I began to work, I was assigned to the TrustPass engineering team as a programmer. TrustPass was the charged product of international website of Alibaba.com, also was the important product of Alibaba. We were short of time and supposed to accomplish the second phase of this product in one month. So everyone was bustling around, something like disorderly. The most terrible thing was nothing but reading other’s code and fixing bugs even to perfect it. To be frank, the code was a mess, I always met the mess as usually, but gradually I got used to it and didn’t think the mess was a problem. From that moment, I began to learn and analyse the reality reflected by the phenomenon of every problem, entity and object. Following that, I realized, “I was born for problem”, if there is no mess or problem, there is no necessity of my existence.

It was what I said, a good programmer,if he wished, would become a good ideologist or logical analyst.
